As Finance Director, Cary oversees the Finance and Accounting departments for Think Services, a division of United Business Media LLC.  The Finance and Accounting departments, based primarily in the San Francisco and Colorado Springs offices, consists of nine specialists who handle accounting and financial reporting for all of Think Services’ Brands.  Think Services provides a wide array of products to three specialized professional communities: game developers, IT service and support professionals, and customer management professionals.  Some of the products and services that Think Services provides are events, training, professional membership, consulting, and multimedia resources.  In serving each of these customer communities, Think Services generates approximately $40.0 million in annual revenue.

In his role as Finance Director, Cary manages financial planning, analysis reporting, and budgeting for all of Think Services’ brands.  This includes analyzing and preparing monthly financial reports for management, as well as, United Business Media’s London based Finance team.   In addition, he produces quarterly profit forecasts and annual budgets which help to quantify and measure Think Services’ financial performance.  These deliverables require key analysis related to statistics, revenue, costs, headcounts, and efficiency metrics.  As a VP, Cary manages more than finances alone, as he is a member of the senior management team.  This entails participating in management and strategy discussions, and performing acquisition analysis, due diligence and integrations.

Cary is another example of someone who made their career with Think Services.  He moved up within the ranks, as he was rewarded for his consistently stellar performance.  He started his career with Miller Freeman, Inc. (which was owned by United Business Media) as a Financial Group Assistant, and since then, he has held various finance positions along the way, including Financial Analyst, Business Manager, Group Controller, and presently VP/Finance Director.   Prior to starting his career with Think Services, Cary earned his B.A. in Managerial Economics at the University of California, Davis.

When he is not crunching numbers, Cary spends his time enjoying outdoor activities.  He is an avid baseball fan, and he roots for the Oakland Athletics.  He has managed and played on a men’s slow-pitch softball team for the past 15 years.  He is married with a very active 3 year old son, who like his father, loves baseball.  Cary’s dream is to see his son make it to the big leagues someday; only time will tell.
